How was it Made? Champleve enamelling
In 2009 a film was made for the Victoria and Albert Museums new Medieval Galleries to demonstrate how engraving and enamelling would have been done at that time. A film crew visited Phil’s workshop in Yoxford and recorded him engraving and enamelling a replica plate from a casket made in Limoges, France in the 12th Century.
